Emotions Continued

Hello out there. These are the characters which will represent the main emotions; happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, disgust, and fear. Still fighting with the more cartoon-y vs "realistic". I didn't get to choose names or ethnicity for these guys, the guidelines were specific. What are your thoughts so far?
I need to step up progress on this and other projects, the deadline looms ever closer. I have been asked to go back and teach a class or two-stay tuned on that front.

I think they're looking good so far, and they definitely seem to be more in the realistic realm (just because they don't seem as pushed as cartoon characters).

I think you should come back and teach storyboarding. Otherwise I'll just have to take it with Dave and get donuts everyday.

I have had people tell me many times that they like my "cartoony" drawings better than my "realistic" drawings because the prior express emotions far more clearly than the latter. Using the cartoony drawing is a fantastic tool for exaggerating emotion if you are trying to teach emotions.

The style that you have presented here in your post seems to allow exaggeration without being so extreme that it becomes detached from reality.
