Santa 07: Further Progress

Good morning, 'figured if I stay up late and got up real early from now to Christmas, I may actually finish this. Did I tell you I waited in a line to get a ham for Christmas dinner for the extended fam yesterday? That's right, a ham. Not to mention that I had the pleasure of experiencing toy shopping at Toys R Us yesterday, wow last-minute Christmas shopping-nerve racking...guess I should start earlier and stop whining. Anyway, here's more progress.
Those legs are bugging the crap out of me, they are going to change so if those are bugging you too...stand by.

For the Santa 07 Challenge

With all of the stuff going on here, I may not meet the deadline for this challenge. 'So nice to be busy though, makes one feel artistic. Here is my progress so far. Aspect ratio will change a bit for the finish, the 'widescreen' is for my family's Christmas card this year -still a work in progress, Christmas seems to arrive earlier and earlier each year, doesn't it?* Anyway what do you think?
*Here's the card. If you want one, print it out and pretend you were on the "Jackson Christmas card Mailing List" this year. If you wanna be, let me know for next year. 'Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!'

Kids (Lost at the Zoo Cont.)

Hi. ‘Had to give my students an end of the semester anatomy final. So, while I was waiting for them to finish, I did this. Sort of fleshing out my concept derived from the first challenge. We’ll see where this goes, assuming I have time to do any of my own stuff for a while.

Robot Characters in progress-And the next Challenge

Howdy! So I'm doing illustrations and design for a book on memory and am in the process of creating a group of characters that will be used to visually describe the different types of memory. There's semantic or fact based memory; what day it is, which comes first-the meal or dessert, your Mom's name etc. Then there's episodic memory or memory based on emotions; the smell of cookies reminds you of your Grandma, a certain song reminds you of a special event that happened in the past, and so on. There's also procedural memory; how to dress, drive or draw, shop, fix dinner, preform CPR, etc. Also shown is the decider robot, this bot will be used to show how the brain utilizes the different memories. Still trying out shapes and ideas so here are initial sketches, I'll keep you posted with progress. What do you think?Above is semantic, below is episodic

Procedural is next
...And last is the deciderStill more time to go on this, but it's been fun so far.
As long as I have your attention, I'd like to announce a timely challenge...
I've always loved Santa for as long as I can remember (speaking of memory) and Haddon Sundblom is God with his Coca Cola Santas. Here's your chance to do Haddon proud. Let's see your stuff after the "real" Santa visits, okay? How about Dec 30?
Have fun drawing.
